Surprises @ Clinique

Most brands are involved in big brand families! You'd be surprised to know about brands that are brothers and sisters. For example, when consumers think of Old Navy and Gap, they think of two different clothing brands. They probably also consider Gap as a higher class clothing brand considering it is more expensive. Here's a fun fact: Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Piperlime, and Athleta are all clothing stores that sell different styles and price ranges in their products, but they are all owned cooperatively together.

A lot of makeup brands are also owned cooperatively. Clinique at OSU has every beauty product that a girl could need, but they also have fragrances! Men and women all over the world have been wearing Clinique fragrances for years. Clinique Happy, Clinique Happy Heart, and Clinique Happy for Men are classics and will be around for a long time as favorite fragrances.

Brother and sister companies to Clinique are offering their fragrances to Clinique now and consumers are very excited! Donna Karen has 4 different scents in their DKNY Be Delicious perfume line, Michael Kors has a perfume called Very Hollywood, and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs also has a perfume. All of these brands, including Clinique, are cooperatively owned by Estée Lauder.

Another popular item at Clinique counters right now is the Quick Blush line of blushes. This is a great product to throw in your purse and use on the go. It's a brush and blush in one and comes in several different shades! Celebrities and magazines have been suggesting this new and exciting product. I love it, and I think any college girl at OSU would too!

  1. I knew that Old Navy, Banana and Piperline were all owned by Gap, but I was unaware that Clinique and Michael Kors were owned by Estee Lauder. It is interesting to see how the various products and lines of fragrances have been packaged and represented from a branding perspective. By the way, Clinique Happy has been my signature scent for the summers since 8th grade. Maybe it's time I venture out to a sister fragrance!
